Wizard is the fifth episode of the second season of Legend of the Seeker. It originally aired on December 5, 2009.

Zedd falls victim to a mysterious spell that strips him of his memories and his old age, causing him to believe that he must replace Richard with a new Seeker.
Episode synopsis[]
The gang travels on and Zedd insists on stopping for food. Richard spots a lone persimmon on a tree - Zedd's favorite - and Zedd eats it. As they continue walking, Zedd's memory starts to fade. He forgets the word for "water" and says "Thank you, Kahlan" when Cara finishes his sentence. He mentions Tarralyn a few moments later as if she were still alive. It is then that they realize something is wrong. Richard figures it has something to do with the persimmon since Zedd is the only one who ate it. Cara suggests it might've been poisoned, but Zedd knows it is some kind of magic. He tells the group about a potion that would undo the spell, and that the only person powerful enough to spell a Wizard of the First Order and that knows he can't resist a persimmon is a witch named Shota. Then he loses his memory completely. He doesn't recognize Richard, Kahlan, or Cara and doesn't remember that he is a wizard. He uses his magic agains Richard and Kahlan accidentally and Cara momentarily subdues him. He escapes when she turns back to help Richard.
Richard and Kahlan try to find the ingredients for the potion while Cara sets off in pursuit of Zedd, who winds up in a nearby town. He sees some D'Haran soldiers harassing a man and almost uses his magic against them, but then a pretty girl walks by and he follows her into a brothel. The man at the bar tells Zedd that he needs 10 coins to participate, but he only has one. He uses his magic and creates more - surprising not only himself, but also the man and one of the ladies who happened to walk by. She is intrigued by this, and he does it again.
