The Sisters of the Light were a group of Gifted Socrceresses
The Gift is the power of magic. Gifted was the name given to people who had the Gift, and could wield the magic. Such magic wielders include Wizards, Sorceresses, and Witch Women.
The Gift was passed from offspring to offspring, but it could sometimes skip a generation. The Gift mainfested itself differently from person to person, with each individual posessing strengthes in some areas more than others.
